The Magic Lantern presents a selection of iconic works which explore altered states of being, drug use and the visual language and imagery of the occult. By delving into the unconscious mind, these disturbing short films seek to challenge, disorientate, and intoxicate the viewer.

The Magic Lantern accompanies the Urban Reflections exhibition with a programme of short films which respond to the theme of ‘The City’. Films which celebrate the grandeur, poetry and mythic aspects of modern cityscapes are presented alongside explorations of the darker elements of urban living. Featuring work by Matthias Müller, Shirley Clark, Jem Cohen and others.
