Stills
is really committed to helping audiences access the vast range of creative
opportunities it offers through its workshops, courses, events and exhibitions.
As part of this commitment to the people who use Stills and who will use
us in the future, we have devised Re:Create:
an audience development project with Stills, Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop
and Edinburgh Printmakers.
Re:Create is an audience-focused project which helps us put the customer
at the centre of everything we do.
• Re:Create is a city wide project to encourage people to come and
use the creative facilities at Stills, Edinburgh Printmakers and Edinburgh
Sculpture Workshop.
• In Re:Create high quality participative activities are devised
and led by artists to enable the widest possible audience to have the
best possible creative experience.
• It provides a framework for artists, audiences and arts professionals
to come together to create, criticise and discuss art through a diverse
range of activities in a supportive environment.
If you’d like to take part in a workshops,
led and devised by artists based at Stills, Edinburgh Printmakers or Edinburgh
Sculpture Workshop, or have an idea for a workshop you are interested
in delivering to a specific audience, please contact Jan or Maria, at

What is audience development?
‘Audience development is a continual, actively managed process in
which an organisation encourages each person to develop confidence, knowledge,
experience and engagement across the full breadth of the artform to meet
their social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs and achieve
their full potential.’ Morris Hargreaves McIntyre
Who are we doing it for?
Everyone.
“Access, giving everyone the possibility of benefiting from what
complex culture has to offer: an understanding of, an engagement with
and the satisfying of the deepest of human needs.” Tessa Jowell
