Stills’ is Scotland’s leading photographic production centre. As well as providing state-of-the-art technical facilities, we operate as a hub for creative communities in Scotland.
We offer suites of photography darkrooms, digital workstations and a dedicated video and sound editing studio which are open 7 days a week. We have no membership fees – to get started all you need to do is book an induction. Inductions are lead by a Stills' technician, last about 1-hour and cost only £20.

This year we’re streamlining the way you use Stills’ Production Facilities to enable more access at better prices

Stills’ new one-day passes or monthly passes give you full access to all Stills’ Production Facilities, including Stills’ digital lab, photography darkrooms and video editing suite, enabling you to move freely between processing film and scanning, post production and printing without interruption. Full details below.
During staffed opening hours, specialist technicians are available to answer any queries you may have, however, if you require training to help you get the most out of our equipment you can sign up for one of our artist-led courses or ask us to arrange a tailored training session.
Our lower ground level offers a comfortable communal area which comprises a research library, with all the latest journals and magazines, free WI-FI internet access, collaboration zones and a private meeting room which can be booked through our reception desk.
The Cultural Enterprise Office is also on site, delivering specialist business and professional development services for cultural practitioners and businesses.

*Consumables (including ink and chemistry) are an additional cost and charged according to usage.

Booking is essential
In cases of high demand, individual bookings will be limited to 3 hours per day, irrespective of pass type.
No bookings taken more than one week in advance.
Passes are for individual use only and are non transferrable.
